Ratifying the City Manager's acceptance and execution of a grant for the Texas A&M Forest Service's Community Forestry Grant in the amount of $16,000.00, with $13,000 in matching funds by the City of Laredo. And amending the city of Laredo's FY 2025 annual budget for the Environmental Services fund by appropriating revenues and expenditures in the amount of $16,000.00. The matching funds are available through the Environmental Department Fund, The Parks and Recreation Department Fund and Keep Laredo Beautiful. All funds will be utilized for purchasing and planting trees at Independence Hills Park.

BACKGROUND
The Texas A&M Forest Service Urban & Community Forestry Program helps communities develop sustainable programs that provide Texans with healthy trees and forests. Healthy urban & community forests are essential to the economic, environmental, physical and mental well-being of all Texans. Eligible entities for community forestry grants must be public or non-profit.
These funds will be used for purchase and planting trees at Independence Hills Park.
