PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

On June 16, 2025 City Council approved for City Management to conduct a feasibility study on implementing a four-day ten-hour work week City employees and identifying the departments suitable for participation; and any matter incident thereto.

 

BACKGROUND

The proposed resolution formalizes the City of Laredo’s commitment to fostering a supportive and innovative workplace that promotes a balanced work-life environment for all employees. This policy will adopt a compressed workweek that aims to enhance employee morale, well-being, and job satisfaction, while maintaining high standards or performance, productivity and service delivery to the public.
