A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas, authorizing the City Manager to accept and enter into a contract amendment from the Department of State Health Services, Health/COVID-19 Health Disparities Grant, in the additional amount of $110,000.00 with no match for the City of Laredo Public Health Department for a total award of $835,000.00, for the term period from September 1, 2021 through May 31, 2026. Funds will be accounted for in the Laredo Public Health Department fund - COVID-19 Health Disparities Grant.

BACKGROUND
The Texas Department of State Health Services contracts with the City of Laredo to provide public health services through the City of Laredo Public Health Department. Through this partnership, the health department will ensure authentic community engagement is targeted in communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and be able to build sustainable relationships in those targeted communities by establishing rapport, developing relationships, listening and documenting voices in the community and engaging and developing cross- sectional partnerships.
