A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas, authorizing the City Manager to accept the donation of parkland of 11.1311-Acre Tract of land being Lot 15, Block 10 as per plat recorded in Volume 36, pages 89-90 of the plat records of Webb County, Texas and Lot 1, Block 17 and Lot 1, Block 18 of the Southern Development Unit IV as per plat recorded in volume 38, pages 50-52 of the plat records of Webb County, Texas with an estimated value of $500,899.50 from 359- IP Development, Inc. to develop a city park to serve for recreational parkland purposes in accordance with the land development code. Additionally, 359-IP Development, Inc. has provided improvements for said park in the total amount of $147,370.06 which exceeds the required amount of $110,528.00 as per the attached agreement. Authorizing the execution of warranty deed; and providing for an effective date.

BACKGROUND
Southern Development Park is an 11.1311-Acre park that integrates an existing wetland with hike and bike trails, youth soccer field, and sand volleyball court. Hike and bike trails connect into the City’s Las Misiones Park to integrate these neighborhoods together. Residents are provided with multiple access points to park and pedestrians can cross Crucero Drive at existing crosswalk. Eventually, the City can expand these hike and bike trails to the Independence Hills Regional Park to develop the South Central Regional Park.
