Consideration for approval of amendment no.1 an increase of $392,280.00 for a professional services contract with Slay Architecture, Laredo, Texas for the FY24-ENG-57 City of Laredo Police Department South Sector Station. This amendment no.1 is to provide architectural and engineering services and credit for platting and detention pond design. Current contract amount with this amendment is $898,430.00. Funding is available in the 2019 and 2023 Certificate of Obligation Bond.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On October 28, 2024 City Council approved to award a professional services contract to Slay Architecture, Laredo, TX in the amount not to exceed $506,150.00 for professional design services for the new City of Laredo Police Department South Sector Station Project located adjacent to the Buena Vista Sports Complex for basic architectural & engineering services to include conceptual and pre-design, permitting, contract
procurement, contract administration and special services for a new 14,000 square foot building including surface parking. Funding is available in the 2017 & 2019 Certificate of Obligation Bonds.

Item 1.1 Addition of Phase II for this project will consist of 7600sf and will include the following areas:

Remove the following services from the scope of work:
Item 1.2 Platting ($17,000.00)
Item 1.3 Detention Basin Design ($10,000.00)
Item 1.4 Per directive from the 50% CD review meeting with Laredo PD on 03/05/2026, the shell building for the Booking Area (Phase 2) will be incorporated into the Phase 1 Contract Document package.
