On 6/27/2024, Council approved Resolution 2024-R-200 authorizing the City Manager to partner with Laredo College to create a workforce development and skills certification program in the areas of hvac, hospitality, and pharmacy technician.
BACKGROUND
This program includes areas focused in the Hospitality industry, HVAC, & Pharmacy Technician certificate programs. These programs have impacted more than 1,000 residents providing them with job training and skills and workforce development opportunities. Phlebotomy is another area in the health industry where the program can be impactful.
