SUBJECT
title
Public Hearing and Introductory Ordinance concerning a voluntary annexation request by Baltazar Hinojosa, on behalf of Ben-Bal, LLC, altering and extending the boundary limits of the City of Laredo to annex approximately 13.735 acres of land, more or less, located north of FM 1472 and Ben-Hur Ranch Road; providing for the effective date of the ordinance; authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract adopting a service plan for the annexed territory; and establishing the initial zoning of M-1 (Light Manufacturing District) for an approximately 13.735 acres of land, more or less, as described by metes and bounds in the attached Exhibit "A."
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the annexation and denial of the proposed initial zoning of M-1 (Light Manufacturing District), recommending a B-1 (Limited Business District) zoning designation instead.
Staff supports the annexation and does not support the initial zoning of M-1 (Light Manufacturing District). However, Staff supports the recommended B-1 (Limited Business District) initial zoning designation.
