A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application in the amount no to exceed $250,000.00, to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor for the FY2026 Border Zone Fire Department’s Grant Program to fund the acquisition of new rescue equipment in order to improve the department’s response time to distress calls. Grant has no match at the time of application. This notice of funding opportunity is on a reimbursement basis. Funding is available in the Special Fire Grants Fund.

BACKGROUND
The purpose of this program is to provide grants to professional fire departments along the Texas-Mexico border region for specialized equipment, maintenance, and medical supplies to support emergency services associated with the execution of border security activities associated with deterring crimes occurring in the geographic area defined in Article IX, Section 7.10 of the General Appropriations Act. The Laredo Fire Department will be using this grant to purchase Rescue Equipment.
