Consideration to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for the purchase of seven 35 ft. L/F Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses for $705,470.00 each, for a total amount of $4,938,290.00 from Gilling L.L.C. ("Gilling") utilizing the State of Washington Contract #06719-01. Funding is available in the Transit Capital Grants Fund - Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) and in the 2018 Certificate of Obligation Bond.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On 01/16/2024, City Council approved to accept and execute the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) FY2022 Section5307 Urbanized Area Grant Program TX-2024-001 in the amount of $5,293,321.00 Funding will be used for the purchase of seven (7) 35-foot heavy-duty CNG bus replacement, one (1) backup generator new, nine (9) ADA screen monitors upgrade, and twenty-five (25) bus farebox upgrade and (2) support vehicles for the El Metro Bus Operations.
BACKGROUND
The seven (7) CNG buses will be replacing seven (7) 2009 diesel buses, which have exceeded its lifetime expectancy of 12 years or 500,000 miles meeting the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) guidelines for replacement.
