PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On July 22, 2024, City Council awarded a contract to sole source provider, TransCore L.P., for the purchase of 20,000 Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) sticker tags in the amount of $200,180.00.
BACKGROUND
The Laredo Bridge System utilizes the sticker tags as part of the AVI Electronic Toll Collection System. To participate in the AVI program, customers open an account, deposit funds into the account and purchase a sticker tag for every vehicle registered. The sticker tag is mounted on the windshield of each vehicle and at the time of crossing, the toll is automatically deducted from the customer’s account.
