BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Public Health Department is entering into an Interlocal Cooperation Contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to provide Mobile Food Vendor (MFV) inspection services in accordance with state laws and regulations. Through this agreement, Laredo Public Health will conduct routine, pre-licensing, complaint-based, and compliance inspections of mobile food vendors within its jurisdiction as assigned by DSHS. Inspections will be performed using state-established protocols, including standardized reporting, documentation, and submission requirements, ensuring consistency with statewide food safety enforcement practices. Through this agreement Laredo Public Health will be supporting the implementation of the statewide regulatory framework for mobile food vendors under the Texas Health and Safety Code and aligns the City's inspection activities with DSHS oversight, ensuring continued protection of public health and food safety within the community.
