Consideration to award contract FY25-064 to Security Management Group, LLC, Laredo, TX, up to the annual amount of $203,580.00 and for the total contract value of $1,017,900.00 for security guard services for the Laredo Public Libraries. Totals of this contract, annually and overall, will be contingent upon funding. Term of the contract is two (2) years with three (3) one-year renewals. The term of this contract will begin at the start of the next upcoming fiscal year (October 1, 2025). Partial funding is currently available in the General Fund-Library Operational Fund.

BACKGROUND
The Libraries, as community gathering places, aim to provide services to the community in a safe and welcoming environment as stated in the 2022-2026 Laredo Public Libraries Strategic Plan. In order to achieve these strategic priorities, the Libraries put out a Request for Proposals (FY25-064) and received fourteen (14) bids for services.
After considering cost of services and proposed price scheduling, references and prior contracts, customer services, licensing, and uniforms and dress code the Libraries opted for Security Management Group, LLC, as the most cost-effective solution to ensure security guard services at all Laredo Public Libraries branches.
