PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On June 24, 2024, City Council approved Public Hearing and Introductory Ordinance.

BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo intends to provide clarification on projects requiring to go through the Utility Coordination process when developing for proper construction of utilities on the Public Right-of-Way and requiring a Clearance Letter. The City of Laredo, through mutual agreement with other entities, has been requiring that adjacent property projects and curb/street/paved area projects on the Public Right-of-Way shall follow a utility coordination process to properly identify all utilities in advance to minimize project delays and damages to existing utilities. The City Council agrees that it is in the best interest of the city that all projects that will have an impact on the public right of way shall follow the Utility Planning and Coordination Guide before securing a Right-of-Way permit.
