A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas, authorizing the City Manager to accept and enter into a continuation contract from the Department of State Health Services, Obesity Prevention Program in the amount of $144,000.00 with no match for the City of Laredo Public Health Department for the term period from September 01, 2025 through August 31, 2026. Funds will be allocated in the Laredo Public Health Department Fund - Obesity Prevention Program.

BACKGROUND
The Texas Department of State Health Services contracts with the City of Laredo Public Health Department to provide health services to residents of Laredo. Through this partnership, the Public Health Department will provide evidence-based education and training for providers, patients, and the community to ensure consistent messaging of reliable health information and collaboration and encourage healthy lifestyles for individuals, families, and communities through health promotion, outreach, and marketing.
