A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas, authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract amendment from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Public Health Infrastructure Funding Grant in the additional amount of $38,000.00, for a total amount of $2,639,178.00, with no match for the City of Laredo Public Health Department for the term period from December 01, 2022 through November 30, 2027. Funds will be accounted for in the Laredo Public Health Department Fund – Public Health Infrastructure Funding Grant.

BACKGROUND
The Texas Department of State Health Services through the CDC Public Health Crisis Response contracts with the City of Laredo to establish, expand, train, travel, and sustain the public health workforce to support jurisdictional COVID-19 prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives through the City of Laredo Health Department. Funding will be used to recruit, hire, and train personnel to address projected jurisdictional COVID-19 response needs to include hiring personnel to build capacity to address state, tribal, local, and territorial public health priorities deriving from COVID-19.
