BACKGROUND
Keep Laredo Beautiful has been awarded a $5,000.00 grant from the Laredo Area Community Foundation to support the Keep Laredo Beautiful Garden Club, a pilot program focused on hands-on environmental education and sustainable gardening practices. The program serves residents ages 15 and older and provides monthly workshops and activities on topics such as soil health, composting, pollinator-friendly gardening, and water-wise landscaping. Grant funds will be used for garden supplies, tools, educational materials, and program activities to enhance access to green spaces and promote environmental stewardship within the City of Laredo. Acceptance of this grant will allow Keep Laredo Beautiful to expand community engagement and strengthen long-term sustainability efforts.
