The City of Laredo Mayor and Council recognize the Adapted Running and Walking Team, composed of athletes with Autism and Down Syndrome, for their outstanding participation in the Runway Run 5K and 1-Mile Walk on January 31, 2026. The team was created to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy sports, build confidence, and actively engage with the community through inclusive athletic activities. The Mayor and Council also extend their sincere appreciation to the dedicated runner guides who participated alongside the athletes, selflessly setting aside their personal race goals to provide support, encouragement, and guidance, helping ensure that every adapted athlete had the opportunity to cross the finish line and share in the accomplishment of the event.
