Authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of five (5) valves from Municipal Valve and Equipment Company in the amount of $242,463.00 for the Raw Water Pump System at EL Pico Water Treatment Plant. The valves will protect the raw water pumps from damage caused by water hammer in the event of a power outage or emergency shut down. Funds are available in the 2022 Water Revenue Bond.

BACKGROUND
Upgrades include the purchase of one (1) 24-inch rubber flapper check valve, two (2) 18-inch rubber flapper check valves, one (1) 30-inch resilient wedge gate valve, and one 36-inch resilient wedge gate valve. The valves will protect the raw water pumps from damage caused by water hammer in the event of a power outage or emergency shut down.
