A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas, authorizing the City Manager to ratify and submit an application to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) for the Wastewater Surveillance Mentorship Program 2025 in the estimated amount of $25,000.00, with no match for the City of Laredo Public Health Department for the term period from February 01, 2025 through July 31, 2025; and further authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents resulting from the award of this grant. Any funding as a result of this application will be appropriated in the Laredo Public Health Department Fund - Wastewater Surveillance Mentorship Program 2025.

BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Public Health Department wishes to apply for this funding opportunity by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through the NACCHO: Wastewater Surveillance Mentorship Program 2025. Through this award, support is granted to local health departments in implementing and expanding their wastewater surveillance efforts via inclusive, non-invasive, and inexpensive method of disease surveillance that brings a better picture of community-level infections.
