BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo is establishing a process for the registration, approval, and authorization of qualified third-party inspectors to perform building inspections within the City. This process will provide an additional inspection resource while maintaining oversight by the Building Official, who will review and accept third-party inspection reports for compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The proposed ordinance establishes the requirements for third-party inspector registration, enforcement, and revocation, as well as a non-refundable $60.00 registration fee to support the administration of the program.
