Authorizing the City Manager to submit grant application to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the FY2027 application STATE-U-2026-LAREDO-3520 in the amount of $586,592.00, no local match is required. Funds will be used for operating expenses of the preventative maintenance division. Funds are made available through the Texas Transportation Commission for large urban, small urban, and rural areas. Funding will be available in the El Metro Operations Fund. No financial impact.

BACKGROUND
The Texas Transportation Commission approved to award funding to the state and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) program. These funds are available to support a variety of public transportation needs in rural and urbanized areas of the state. An award of $586,592.00 of these state funds were designated to the City of Laredo by the Texas Transportation Commission.
