On November 6, 2023, City Council approved change order No. 1 an increase in the amount of $55,635.00, and an increase in contract time of one hundred eighty-nine (189) calendar days, for additional scope of work including sidewalk, benches, installation of flag poles, and monument structure, for FY23-ENG-13 CDBG Vietnam Veterans Walking Trail District V to Midas Contractors, LLC. The revised construction contract amount including this change order is $302,735.00 with a construction contract time of two hundred forty-nine (249) calendar days. Funding is available in 2022 CO Bond District V Priority Funds.
On January 17, 2023, City Council approved to award construction contract FY23-ENG-13 to the lowest responsible responsive bidder Midas Contractors, LLC., Laredo, Texas; in the amount not to exceed $247,100.00 for CDBG Vietnam Veterans Walking Trail (District V) for the total base bid plus alternate items #3, #4, and #5, and an additional $40,000.00 contingency allowance for other improvements. The project consists of constructing approximately 1,400 linear feet of a 10-foot-wide walking trail and other amenities adjacent to Joe A. Guerra Public Library located at 1120 Calton Rd. The construction contract time for the project is 60 calendar days and authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute all related contract documents contingent upon receipt and approval of insurance and bond documents.
