BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo Utilities Department is continuing its efforts to modernize and optimize the water distribution system through the implementation of smart hydrant technology.

The proposed purchase includes iHydrants, wet barrel smart caps, adapters, retrofit kits, and related equipment needed to support enhanced monitoring and modernization of the City’s water distribution infrastructure.

The technology will assist Utilities staff with improved system monitoring, data collection, proactive maintenance, operational response, and asset management activities.

The proposed purchase will be made from ACT Pipe & Supply, Laredo, Texas, through BuyBoard Contract No. 791-26, in an amount up to $658,121.80.
