BACKGROUND
During the FY23-24 Budget Process the Human Resource Employee Relations Divisions presented to Management the City of Laredo “Project Excellence!” - “Celebrating, Acknowledging and Honoring City of Laredo Employees for their service to the City of Laredo and its citizens.”
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
“Project Excellence” has three critical components with the sole purpose of celebrating, recognizing and honoring ALL City of Laredo Employees. The three components include:
* City of Laredo Employee Spotlight
* City of Laredo Employee Years of Service Recognition, and
* City of Laredo Public Service Recognition Week - “City of Laredo Employee Family
Night”
It is the Human Resources Department’s goal to recognize all 3000 City of Laredo employees through any and/or all of these components during any given fiscal year.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Based on the feedback we have received from employees, the Human Resources Department strongly recommends approval of this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to authorize $25,000 in the yearly budget to support and facilitate the implementation of “Project Excellence” providing that funding is available for each fiscal year.
