BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo is requesting authorization to submit an application for financial assistance through the Texas Water Development Board's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) - Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program in an amount not to exceed $35,000,000.00.
The proposed Water Loss Reduction and Asset Renewal Project will support improvements to the City's waterworks system by addressing water loss, aging infrastructure, and system reliability. The project is intended to assist with the renewal and replacement of critical water infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, reduce water loss, and support the long-term sustainability of the City's water supply system.
If awarded, the financial assistance will allow the City to advance necessary infrastructure improvements that protect public health, conserve water resources, and strengthen the reliability of the City's drinking water system.
