On May 19, 2025, the City Council approved the Laredo Efficiency and Innovation Plan (LEIP), which authorized the organizational restructuring that placed Building Development Services under the Planning & Zoning Department.

 

BACKGROUND

On May 19, 2025, the City Council approved the Laredo Efficiency and Innovation Plan (LEIP), which included the consolidation of Building Development Services and Planning & Zoning to improve operational efficiency, coordination, and service delivery. As part of the organizational restructuring, the consolidated department is being designated as the Development Services Department to more accurately reflect the scope and responsibilities of the department.
