BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Public Health Department wishes to apply for this funding opportunity by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for the Implementing Zero Suicide in Health Systems. Through this program Laredo Public Health will be able to provide support to healthcare systems in implementing the Zero Suicide framework, an evidence-based approach designed to reduce suicide ideation, attempts, and deaths among individuals at risk. The Zero Suicide model focuses on strengthening system-wide capacity through workforce training, early identification, evidence-based treatment, and improved care coordination. This funding opportunity addresses the growing need for comprehensive and data-driven suicide prevention efforts across healthcare settings.
