Consideration for approval of FY23-ENG-01 Lafayette Overpass Public Art Project (District 8) project as complete and approval of final payment in the amount of $28,395.06 to UP Art Studio, LLC., Houston, Texas. The final contract amount is $322,500.00. Funding is available in the 2018 Certificate of Obligation Bond District VIII Priority Fund.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On February 20, 2024, City Council approved Amendment No. 1, an increase in the amount of $2, 97,500.00 to the professional services contract with UP Art Studio, LLC., Houston, Texas, for the FY23-ENG-01 Lafayette Overpass Public Art Project (District 8) phase two Installation and Project Delivery, which will include additional artist honorariums, support/services, equipment rentals, travel, and contingency allowance. The City of Laredo will procure materials, supplies and provide in-kind support services. Lighting for this project will be provided at a later date. Current contract amount with this amendment is $322,500.00. Funding is available in the District VIII Priority Fund.
On June 5, 2023On January 17, 2023, City Council approved the selection of the top ranked Public Art Public Manager for RFQ FY23-ENG-01 Lafayette Overpass Public Art Project (District 8) and authorizing the Interim City Manager to negotiate a professional services contract. Two (2) electronic submission through Cit-E-Bid and one (1) manual submission responding to the Request for Qualifications were received at the City Secretary's office on or before Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. The submissions received were publicly opened, read and taken under advertisement on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. The evaluation committee recommends the selection of UP Art Studio, LLC. based on the final rankings below:

3. Antonio Briones, III, Laredo, Texas
