Consideration for approval of Amendment No. 1, an increase in the amount of $74,000.00 to the professional services contract with EED Engineering, Inc., Laredo, Texas for FY24-ENG-39 City of Laredo Sames Auto Arena and Haynes Rec Center ATS & Generator. Amendment No. 1 includes additional electrical, civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services for the standby generators. Current contract amount with this amendment is $99,500.00. Funding is available in the Sports & Community Venue Fund and Capital Improvement Funds.

BACKGROUND
The projects consist of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and Portable Generator sizing, ATS & and quick connect installation Design and Contract Administration (CA).
Phase 1: Procurement of ATS based on existing electrical service equipment at the arena.
Phase 2: Installation of ATS and quick connect wires equipment consist of the following:
1. Electrical installation plans preparations.
2. Electrical: installation plans for ATS to accept quick connect equipment.
3. Bid for installation.
4. Coordination with AEP and fire department during installation process to disconnect power temporarily.
5. Contractor to install ATS and rewire system as needed.
6. Contractor to install quick connect wiring into ATS.
7. Some sidewalk concrete work is required, this to be coordinated with the Engineering Department.
Phase 3: In reference to Portable Generators:
1. Procurement of Portable Generators, portable wiring, and adequate to quick connect wires equipment.
2. Bid for installation.
