PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On April 2, 2024, City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA) No.3483-02-002 with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) for an On-System Project funded through the Urban Connectivity Program, Metropolitan Area Corridor Program, Preventative Maintenance & Rehab Program, and Surface Transportation Program - Metropolitan Mobility. This project consists of constructing a new location roadway, SH 84, from FM 1472 to IH 35, approximately 8.43 mi long. The project includes the limits of the new location roadway Hachar- Reuthinger, previously referenced in AFA 0922-33-165. As a result, the original AFA for CSJ: 0922-33-165 will be terminated. The City of Laredo and the Texas Department of Transportation have negotiated terms of an Advanced Funding Agreement in the estimated amount of $210,626,999.00, with federal participation in the estimated amount of $126,294,218.00, state participation in the estimated amount of $49,266,346.00 and local participation in the estimated amount of $35,700,000.00. State participation will cover 100% of environmental, ROW mapping, PS&E and direct state costs, including overruns. The City of Laredo shall acquire the necessary Right-of-Way and obtain necessary Utility clearances with local funds, including overruns.
