PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

On December 1, 2025, City Council awarded a construction contract to the lowest, responsible, responsive bidder Andale Construction, Inc., Wichita, Kansas in the amount not to exceed $3,135,848.00 for the FY25-ENG-65 High Density Mineral Bond-Street Maintenance Project for the total base bid including a $150,000.00 contingency allowance and Alternate No. 1. The construction contract time for this project is 120 working days. Funding is available in the Tax Note Fund.

 

BACKGROUND

The purpose of the project is to apply a high-density mineral bond (HDMB) surface treatment to designated roadways in order to extend pavement life, enhance durability, and improve overall roadway performance. The treatment shall provide a uniform, skid-resistant surface that seals the pavement against oxidation, water intrusion, and surface wear.
