A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Laredo, Texas authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application in the amount not to exceed $250,000.00, to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor for the FY 2027 Border Zone Fire Departments Grant Program to fund the acquisition of new hazardous materials and rescue equipment in order to improve the department’s response time to distress calls. BACKGROUND
The purpose of this program is to provide grants to professional fire departments along the Texas-Mexico border region for specialized equipment, maintenance, and medical supplies to support emergency services associated with the execution of border security activities associated with deterring crimes occurring in the geographic area defined in Article IX, Section 7.10 of the General Appropriations Act. The Laredo Fire Department will be using this grant to purchase Rescue Equipment.
