BACKGROUND
Due to the high number of mechanical problems with our garbage/recycle trucks, the rental and purchase automated side loaders will be used for the daily collection of trash and recycle pick up.
Consideration to authorize a purchase contract utilizing Cooperative Purchasing Program pricing. Buy board offered by vendor: Rush Truck Center, Laredo, Texas for the purchase of heavy-duty trucks. These trucks are to replace units which have already reached their useful life. Some units have to be replaced every 4-5 years to meet performance standards for the collection and transportation of solid waste material.
