PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On the 22nd day of July 2024, by Ordinance 2024-O-148, the City Council adopted the 2021 edition of the National Electrical Code of the National Fire Protection Association.
BACKGROUND
The adoption of the most recent edition of the 2020 National Electrical Code will provide a safe living environment in Laredo by: 1. Ensuring code complying installation with recently introduced electric equipment, materials, and methods, 2. Continuing to provide the City with the necessary rules for the abatement of electrical violations; and 3. Provide up-to-date design and safety rules sufficient to reduce threats to life and property from the misuse of electricity.
