BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo’s public safety radio system is susceptible to downtime events. In order to minimize the impact of possible downtime, IST will be implementing a backup prime site for the public safety radio system. The backup prime site provides redundancy and resiliency to the radio system, minimizing the potential for extended downtime events on the critical police and fire radio systems. The cost to add the backup site is $850,125 under DIR pricing. Funds are available in the 2024 CO Bond.
