BACKGROUND
The Health and Human Services Commission continues to contract with the City of Laredo Public Health Department for the Healthy Texas Women (HTW) and Family Planning (FPP) programs. The HTW program provides patient care preventative health care services for women under the 200% Federal Poverty Level and between the ages of 15 to 44 years old to enhance health care access, early detection and prevention for women. The FPP program provides women's preventive health care and family planning services with a fee for service and cost reimbursement component. Through these programs, the City of Laredo aims to improve women's health through better access to primary care, women's health, preventive care, early detection, cancer screening, prenatal, postpartum, maternal child health, family planning, chronic disease prevention, case management and health education as well as diagnostic and laboratory services.
