Authorizing the City Manager to award a contract with the sole source vendor Water Tech Inc. McAllen, Texas in the amount of $141,797.60 for the purchase of one sludge conveyor belt and ancillary equipment needed for sludge removal at the South Laredo Wastewater Treatment Plant. The existing equipment has reached its useful life and needs to be replaced. Funding is available in the 2022 Sewer Revenue Bond.

BACKGROUND
The South Laredo Wastewater Treatment Plant operates (4) belt Filter Presses for sludge de-watering purposes. Presently there are two (2) Water Tech Sludge conveying belt systems taking processed sludge to the sludge disposal trucks for Landfill disposal. This is needed in order to maintain operations up to TCEQ standards to prevent odors control and vector attraction.
