BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo Land Development Code Section 24.63.2, entitled “Permitted Land Uses,” currently does not identify the storage of flammable and explosive products as a separate use classification. This absence has created uncertainty regarding whether such use is allowed. To address this issue, the proposed amendment resolves this by clarifying distinctively in the City Laredo Land Development Code Section 24.63.2, entitled “Permitted Land Uses,” the storage of flammable and explosive products is permitted in M-2 (Heavy Manufacturing District) zoning districts and permitted in M-1 (Light Manufacturing District) zoning districts through the issuance of a Special Use Permit (SUP).
