BACKGROUND
The revenues for this donation were initially generated through registration fees from the 5K run during police week and deposited into the City of Laredo general fund-special events/registration fees account. Through the terms of this Agreement, the City desires to contribute twenty-one thousand thirty dollars ($21,030.00) (the "Donation") to the Explorer Program Post 468 for the purchase of essential equipment and uniforms needed to engage in community events and participate in area/state competitions.

The Explorer Program Post 468 is a not-for profit organization with a mission and purpose of preparing and developing youth in the Laredo community interested in a law enforcement career to high ethical, moral, and professional standards. The program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training practical experiences, competitions and other activities.
