BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo Public Health Department is seeking to participate in the UT Health GET-PHIT Public Health Informatics and Workforce Training Program, a multi-year project funded by the Office of the National Coordinator in the Department of Health and Human Services. Through this collaboration, Laredo Public Health will be included in public health workforce assessment activities, host interns from participating GET PHIT institutions, implement relevant workforce training with our own organization, and disseminate training activity opportunities to our stakeholders. This program will allow for the introduction of informatics activities within our department and the further development of the public health workforce.
