City Council approved the Flock Safety purchase contract on August 5, 2024.
BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Police Department recently received funding from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA) Senate Bill 224 (SB224) for the purchase of license plate readers cameras systems, and gun-shot detection devices, from Flock Safety. This technology will greatly assist with public safety, and also serve as a crime deterrent in any identified hotspots within our community. Moreover, the various Flock technology and equipment will enhance our agencies’ ability to investigate and solve crimes efficiently and effectively.
