Consideration to award a contract to purchase 400 Glock G45 guns, firearm flashlight and holsters for the Police Department in an amount of $330,548.00 from GT Distributors, Inc. through the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract No. 698-23. The total cost reflects a trade-in discount for 400 service weapons currently assigned to sworn personnel. Funding will be available in the Police Trust Fund.

Approved the City of Laredo’s participation in the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Program.
BACKGROUND
Authorization is requested for the purchase of service weapons for the Police Department. These service weapons, “red dot” pistols, will enhance the safety and accuracy of law enforcement officers, improve situational awareness, and are more effective when used in high stress situations. The current weapons will be traded in, total price reflects trade-in credit.
