BACKGROUND
The Solid Waste Department formally requested bids to award a one time purchase for dirt & hauling services through Cit-E-Bid procurement system. This is an additional purchase of dirt which will be required for the 4 & 5 cell construction. The cell construction is to bury more garbage and continue with landfill operations for the next 7 to 8 years on 359. In order to be in compliance with TCEQ the dirt is going to be used for protective cover. Contract with Primary Vendor M & v Heavy Equipment was rescinded as material did not meet engineering specifications, Secondary Vendor Double D Trucking, Laredo, TX continued to supply the remaining tons in contract at their price rate, thus Landfill is requesting the 25% increase from original amount $382,700.00 which is $95,675.00.
