PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On 08/01/2022, Council approved to accept and execute the Federal Transit Administration Section 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities grant number Tx-2022-038-00 based on funding authorized under the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act for the purchase of two (2) light duty buses. Local match required is in the amount of $67,273.00 and FTA share is for $381,215.00.
BACKGROUND
These two (2) Light-Duty Buses will be funded with this Section 5339 FYY 21 grant. These buses will be replacing two (2) Gillig buses which have exceeded its lifetime expectancy meeting all FTA guidelines for replacement. The Useful Life of the old Gillig buses are 12 years and 500,000 miles. The buses will have a match of 85/15 ratio due to the buses complies with ADA as the vehicle are wheelchair accessible usable for individuals with disabilities. The buses that are being replaced are:

Bus No. 1134 Vin No. Model Year 2009, 15GGD2716B1178160 Lifetime Mileage 573,654
Useful Life of Replacement Vehicles: These buses(#909 and #1134) are meeting the ULB minimum of 12 years and exceeding 500,000 miles and eligible to be replaced.
