SUBJECT
A Resolution of the City Council for the City of Laredo, Texas approving a license agreement between the City of Laredo - Bridge System and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the purpose of installing/mounting of drawbridge cameras at specified location at World Trade Bridge, the cameras are intended to monitor and deter any illicit foot traffic of individuals entering without inspection while using the World Trade Bridge, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all relevant documents, and any other matters incident thereto; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. This license agreement is being granted without monetary cost or monetary compensation to the City of Laredo and the Laredo Bridge System. U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) acknowledges the responsibility for all costs and maintenance of the use of the Site for the Permitted Use.

BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Bridge System agrees that the installation of these cameras will provide a significant benefit to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) by enhancing their ability to monitor and deter illicit pedestrian traffic attempting to enter without inspection through the World Trade Bridge. The sole purpose of the camera installation at the World Trade Bridge is to support the monitoring and deterrence of such unauthorized crossings. U.S. Customs and Border Protection intends to implement these cameras, which will be maintained by the Laredo North Border Patrol Station Sensor Team. The team will conduct monthly site visits to service the equipment, including battery replacement and general maintenance.
The camera setup includes:
* Battery operated cameras will be installed in City of Laredo Bridge System light poles
at mid-bridge.
