BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo Public Health Department wishes to purchase a Fuji Aspire Cristalle Screening Mammography Unit for the Family Planning Program. The availability of an in-house mammography machine at the Public Health Department is critical for the timely and effective screening of our patients, particularly for early detection of breast cancer among vulnerable populations. The Aspire Cristalle offers high-resolution imaging with lower radiation exposure, enhancing both diagnostic accuracy and patient safety. Its flexible comfort paddles provide uniform and gentle compression, significantly improving the overall patient experience during the screening process. The system’s innovative detector design increases imaging efficiency by more than 20%, resulting in a streamlined workflow and reducing exam times. The Aspire Cristalle also counts with additional operational benefits such as automatic calibration, quick startup, and simplified weekly quality control, all of which reduce maintenance demands. The system also boasts faster image processing and a longer tube life. The acquisition of the Fuji Aspire Cristalle will significantly improve Laredo Public Health’s ability to deliver preventive care and will help close gaps in access to breast cancer screening services for underserved populations in Laredo and the surrounding areas. FUJIFIL Healthcare Americas Corporations is a sole source vendor. Sole Source Vendor affidavit approved by Legal.
