Summary of alignment: Resource sharing efforts such as these improve greater access to educational materials and increase collaborative efforts to provide better access through public and private partnerships by meeting the community where they are.

November 20, 2017, Motion to direct staff to negotiate terms for an MOU with the Laredo Housing Authority.
BACKGROUND
BiblioTech is an initiative of the Laredo Housing Authority in partnership with the City of Laredo and Bexar County, San Antonio. The BiblioTech mission is to provide community residents technology access to enhance literacy and education, promote reading as a recreation and equip residents of our community with necessary tools to thrive as citizens of the digital age.
This amendment will remove the Housing Authority (“LHA”) from any financial obligation for applicable fees associated with access to the Library’s Integrated Library System (“ILS”) and will remove the Library’s obligation to provide access or support for access to the Library’s Integrated library System (“ILS”).
This amendment places a term of three (3) years, with an expiration date of October 1, 2028, that will allow both parties to review terms and conditions and amend.
The Original MOU’s additional terms and conditions otherwise listed still stand and both parties have agreed that this second amendment does not hinder or impede either party from fulfilling the mutual objectives and missions of the Original MOU.
