BACKGROUND

The Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas contracts with the City of Laredo Public Health Department for the Cancer Screening and Early Detection Grant. Through this award, Laredo Public Health will work towards reducing cancer incidence and mortality, reduce cancer disparities, and improve the lives of cancer survivors by promoting and providing hepatitis B and HPV vaccines, supporting environmental approaches that make healthy choices easier, and empowering people to make healthy lifestyles choices related to tobacco use, nutrition, physical activity, and sun safety.
