BACKGROUND:

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Office of Public Health (OBPH) has contracted with the City of Laredo Public Health Department to provide promotion of unity and friendship between the public health officials of neighboring cities and regions, examining health needs, share epidemiological data, assess current and emerging public health concerns, and share available programs with particular attention and concern to the council’s geographical area, and to consider joint actions in common benefit of population of both sides of the border.
