BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo Employee Leadership Development Program was created in 1997 as a training opportunity to identify and train future leaders. The program ran from 1997 through 2007 and graduated 103 employees from the program.
With the approval and support of the City Management, the City of Laredo Employee Leadership Development Program, in collaboration with Laredo College, was re-established on January 2023. The 10-month program consisted of classes that were held once a month from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Program provided the participants with an overview and tour of various City of Laredo Departments, provided a Speech and Communication Component and provided learning opportunities on the following topics: Leadership Fundamentals, Overview of Leadership Styles, Generational Diversity in the Workplace, Ethical Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Creating Employee Accountability, Self-Leadership, Managing
Feedback, Strategic Plan: Leadership Planning and Designing Community Interventions.

The following City of Laredo Employees are being recognized for their active participation, successful fulfillment of program requirements, and graduation from the 2023 City of Laredo Employee Leadership Development Program:
